Life on board the Dawn...

Our "stateroom" d729 before we had the beds separated to give us more space.

Sunset leaving Istanbul

The back of the ship... My favourite place to be.

Sunrise arriving into Canne

Flamingo dancers that gave a performance on board before we departed Barcelona.

Sunset on the ocean.

The corridor on deck 11.

The atrium in the Casino area

The main atrium and shopping arcade.  Always the grand piano or violinists playing beautiful music.

The Vista lounge... The smaller of the 2 theatres.

The Wheelhouse Bar

The main pool area

MUTS - Movies Under The Stars.  This is also where they televise sporting events like the NRL GF.

The Oasis - you pay $10 for half a day for the privilege of sitting in here.... We didn't!

The front pool area for staff.

Our dinner companions in the main dining area.

My entree.

One of the prizes that I won... This was for a quiz about fellow passengers on Cruise Critic.

Another beautiful sunset at sea

Crossing the equator party for those who haven't crossed before on a ship.

My main meal in the Steak House.... I only ate about a third and left one of the prawns!

More table mates... Deb and Bob

Our table mates at the Steak House to celebrate Sharon's birthday ( not me)

The back deck pool and spa area where I usually hang out as it is quieter and I like watching the wake at the back of the ship.

Another sunset off the Qld coast

And the day after

My two lobster tails for my entree...they were yummy too!!

The balloon drop on the last formal night.

Our postcards on our wardrobe to remind us of all the ports we have been to.

Saturday 5th October

Darwin, Australia
Today we arrived into Darwin around 10.30am.  The arrival and departure times in Darwin are largely governed by the tides as they are very big... I did hear 6 to 8 metres.....
We ambled off the ship around 11.30am with Peter planning to go to the war museum and me to hit the mall then reunite at the wave pool.  After parting ways Peter found it was too hard and too hot to get to the museum as no public buses go there and no taxis around so he joined me in the mall for a cold drink.  After wondering the streets of Darwin we headed back to the ship bypassing the wave pool as we decided to hit the pool on the ship instead as it was all on board by 4.30pm for an early departure.  As we neared the cruise terminal there was a massive line to get on board as they had to lower the gangplanks by two decks as the tide was in.... once on board we hit the Horizon Court for lunch and then the pool then armed with our sailaway drinks hit deck 11 for our last sailaway get together.  All in all a very HOT day in Darwin.  We have 5 sea days before we arrive into Sydney.... homeward bound!!!!
